The SMILE 5km Walk/Run is an annual event started in 2010 and is the major fundraiser for the SMILE Program. The Walk/Run is held annually at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB in an effort to raise funds and awareness.

In 2010 the SMILE program was in danger of ending due to a lack of funds. Over 200 MTA students and community members came out to the event. Residences were challenged to have the most participants, the Student Administrative Council's incoming and outgoing executives were challenged to finish the run first and friends and off campus houses placed bets on who would cross the finish line first.

Over $2200 was raised and allowed the program to continue into its next year! It has now become our major fundraiser!
