Definition of RESPITE

 

1: a period of temporary delay

 

2: an intervalof rest or relief

 

   

The Respite Support Workers are able to provide the children with the one-on-one support they need so that they can participate in recreational activities throughout the summer months. In additional the respite support workers promote leadership and social skill development among the at-risk youth population through mentorship and role modeling from the student workers.

CEIP offers respite through many different practises. The Respite Support Workers are a resource for families with limited resources to relife aid. This service allows families assistance in everyday routines, providing children with community interaction, and relaxation period for parents.  

 

My name is Emma and this is my second year working with CEIP and I am so excited to be back for another summer. I am a Mount Allison student studying Geography and History. I plan to enroll in a Education Program and specialize in Special Education in the years to come. I also work closly with CEIP and the SMILE program and a co-coordinator. I had such a great time last year working with so many great kids!!!
